There’s something berry special about all things berries this silly season! My mother’s Christmas strawberry pavlova roll is one. Whilst you can treat your-ELF with such festive desserts, for a very Berry Christmas these raspberry gelatin gummies deserve a go! Packed with collagen and gut loving goodness, they’re easy to make and only contain a handful of ingredients. They are also quite the treat for children… especially if you play around with mould shapes, and different coloured fruits.

  • 1 cup frozen raspberries
  • ½ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Sweetener: 4 tablespoons raw honey or maple syrup
  • ¼ cup grass-fed gelatin

  1. Blend the thawed raspberries and lemon juice in a blender and blitz until you reach a smooth consistency.

  2. Place the mix in a pan on medium heat. Stir.

  3. Add the above sweetener of choice and grass-fed gelatin to the pan.

  4. Slowly stir on low heat until a smooth consistency is achieved.

  5. Let the mixture cool down.

  6. Pour the mixture into silicone moulds using a tablespoon.

  7. Let it set in the refrigerator for 2 hours.

  8. Remove the gummies from the moulds and serve.

Gelatin also makes for some great sensory play for toddlers and preschoolers.

  1. Boil some water, add gelatin, some natural food colouring and stir.

  2. Pour into a tray.

  3. Place some glitter, rice, pasta and other child friendly substances into the tray. Read HERE for some more sensory tray resources.

  4. Let it set in the fridge for 2 hours.

Once ready allow the little ones to explore and stimulate the senses.. sight, touch, smell and dexterity!

The Gelatin Gummies can be stored in the fridge for up to one week.
